Day 1: Slide Rock State Park | Chapel of the Holy Cross | Cathedral Rock | Tlaquepaque
Day 2: Airport Mesa| Mystical Bazaar | West Sedona
Spent a quick weekend in December in Sedona a week before my birthday. I loved the vibes so much in the little town! It felt like we were in a National Park – everywhere you go was surrounded by beautiful red rock formations. I also didn’t know until I was doing research that Sedona was big on crystals and psychic readings. Not sure if it was because of this, but I felt very peaceful vibes being there hehe.
Here’s a quick outline of what we did!
- Day 0
- Drove into Sedona from Las Vegas after work
- Arrived late night – hotel front desk closed!
- Day 1
- Slide Rock State Park – a great place to swim during the summer, I bet! We did a quick stroll along the stream – relaxing and peaceful.
- Chapel of the Holy Cross – busy parking lot! Very cool church architecture.
- Cathedral Rock Hike – drove by around 3pm and the entrance to the road was closed. Made another loop and it opened! Luckily found parking in the second lot. The hike looked intimidating from a far, but it turned out to be a very fun hike! Spent a good amount of time at the end of the hike, watching the golden hour before sunset. Took a bunch of pictures, of course!
- Tlaquepaque Arts & Shopping Village – the cutest little village! As it was around Christmas time, the village was decorated with lights and had live music and caroling. This jazz group MADE my night. My husband and I spent a good hour or two listening to them play.
- Day 2
- Drove out to see the sunrise at Airport Mesa – it was already rising by the time we got there, it was FREEZING but still an amazing beautiful view! Even got to see some hot air balloons!
- Afterwards, we went back to our hotel room and took a nap.
- Had lunch at The Hudson with some amazing views from the restaurant.
- Drove by the blue McDonald’s
- Checked in at Mystical Bazaar for a couples psychic reading! More on this later…
- Walked and shopped around the West Sedona area before driving back!
